On July 2, the summer festival programme "Open Spaces for Urban Culture" was launched. Guests at the opening were Mrs. Malina Edreva, Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture, Science and Cultural Diversity of Sofia Municipality, Mrs. Irina Yordanova - Chairperson of the Programme Council of Europe Programme and Mrs. Iliana Zaharieva - Director of Corporate Communications at M-Tel.


The artistic programme started with presentation of a project in the open of "Dupini" Association (Veliko Tarnovo), a concert of Blagoev Dixie Jazztet, and street performance by Igrachko Plachko.


The programme, open to the public on July 3, will run from 19:00 hrs. with improvisational theater with "ShiziPro Group». On Saturday, July 4, the festival will begin at 11:00 hrs. with children's show with Vladimir Kolishkin, and from 17:00 hrs. an environmental workshop for children - "Dolls of the Tower" of the Small Theatre Company" (Gabrovo) – will be organized. The day will finish with the dance performance by the young company Atom Theatre from 19:00 hrs.


On the last day of the festival, July 5, "Open Spaces for Urban Culture" will present "Painted Stories with Bate Itso" – author's performance by Hristo Kolev (Varna), starting at 11.00 hrs., and a workshop for making puppets with Absurd Theatre at 17:00 hrs.


The "Open Spaces for Urban Culture" project of Art Office Foundation is implemented with the support of Sofia Municipality Europe Programme and the Fund for Innovations in Culture, in partnership with Krasno Selo District and the Municipal Cultural Institute "Krasno Selo", with the financial assistance of M-tel.
