Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova and municipal councilors met with the winners of the first Sofia Municipality Innovation Hackathon 2016, co-organized by Innovation Starter, Sofia Development Association and the Fund for Innovations. The five team finalists - ELMO, Sportify, Squad, El Romantico and ABD Crew - included students from Sofia University, New Bulgarian University and the College of Management. In the Mayor's words, the solutions developed by the finalists are more than the hackathon’s requirement for reaching a technical prototype. “In your projects one can see respect, care and affection for the city and its citizens and guests. Therefore, in the results of this hackathon I see a proof that the ideas are here, the talented people are here, and they only need to be supported”.

Yordanka Fandakova and Iliana Zaharieva - Director of Corporate Communications at Mobiltel, presented the grand award - a check for 10,000 leva – to the team winner, ELMO. Prizes were also provided by Ontotext, Superhosting, Webit, Publishing House “Kragozor”, “Promyanata” Foundation.
